The Marriage Of

WHAT,
WHERE
& WHEN?
This weekend is a love letter—to food, music, culture, and most of all, to eachother. Every detail has been chosen with care, not just for its beauty, but because it reflects who we are as a couple. From the vibrant brass bands to the indulgent dishes we’ll share, this celebration is a glimpse into the world we’ve built together—a world where joy, flavor, and tradition matter. New Orleans is the perfect stage for this, a city whose heart beats to the same rhythm as ours. We hope you'll join us for a weekend filled with everything we cherish, wrapped in a celebration that feels distinctly, and wholeheartedly, us.

REGISTRY
We consider your attendance the ultimate gift — truly, our hearts are full! However, for those inclined toward the art of gifting, we’ve curated a modest registry of practical and charming items to accompany us on our next adventure. Feel free to peruse it at your leisure, though know that your presence alone completes our story splendidly.

QUESTIONS
& ANSWERS
1. WHY NEW ORLEANS?
It's one of Ayla's favorite cities in the US & when she suggested it to Chris as a potential wedding location, he (like with many of Ayla's lofty ideas) was on board immediately! We've designed the weekend's timeline to allow guests to explore all that our favorite city has to offer, visit "The Places" tab for suggestions of our favorite spots.
2. WHAT SHOES SHOULD I WEAR?
Comfortable ones! Don't wear thin high heels, as many activities involve dancing and walking on cobblestone streets. Please, for your ankles sake, wear appropriate footwear!
3. WHEN IS THE RSVP DEADLINE
Please RSVP by December 15th.
4. CAN I BRING A DATE?
We've opted for an intimate weekend with our nearest and dearest, so only those specifically addressed on the formal invitations are welcome. Only guests on the guestlist will be able to RSVP. If you're having trouble RSVPing, try your legal/full name instead of a nickname.
5. ARE KIDS WELCOME?
Sadly no, unless specifically addressed ...New Orleans is the perfect place for a child-free vacation!
6. WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?
February in New Orleans can vary from mid 60's - 70's Fahrenheit during the day and fall to the 50's at night. We recommend layers, however much of the event will be primarily indoors or in the courtyards.
7. WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
We DO NOT recommend driving in the French Quarter, we've designed the weekend to be walkable for a reason - New Orleans roads are a circus.
8. ARE THE EVENTS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
Yes, all venues with second-story activities are accessible via elevator. If you require transportation for the second line (are unable to walk a half mile or more) please contact Ayla or Chris ASAP.
9. CAN I TAKE PICTURES DURING THE WEDDING?
For the most part, yes. There will be specific points in the day when guests will be explicitly asked to refrain from cellphone and individual photography use. Please respect these instructions and DO NOT USE YOUR CELLPHONE during these times or you will interfere with the professionals on site.
10. WHATS A SECOND LINE?
A second line is a popular tradition at New Orleans weddings that marks the start of the couple's new life together. It involves a parade of the wedding party and guests from the ceremony to the reception, led by a band and the newlyweds. The "First Line" includes the bride and groom, and a brass band who lead the parade often with decorated parasols. The "Second Line" consists of the wedding party and guests who follow the band and couple, dancing and waving handkerchiefs. The Second Line traditionally progresses from the Ceremony to the Reception, as it will for Chris & Ayla's Wedding.
11. WHAT DO THESE DRESS CODES MEAN?
Friday | Semi - Formal:
-
Think business casual, cocktail dresses, nothing over the top. Nice pair of jeans and a button down would do.

Saturday | Black Tie Optional:
-
Full length gowns or a suite, please! Those not of driving age or younger are welcome to sport dress shirts, dress pants and a tie or a cocktail dress. Adults, this is your time to shine, sport that gown you've wanted to wear again or whip out that classic tux if you have it!

Sunday | Casual Swim Attire
-
No need to dress up for this one - feel free to go casual. We'll be relaxing around the rooftop pool (weather permitting) or enjoying the skyline views from the rooftop Riverview room. Pack your swimsuit - if it's warm enough you're welcome to utilize the changing rooms and enjoy a truly poolside piña colada!
12. CAN I WEAR WHITE?
No... that's for the bride only.
13. WHAT ARE SATURDAY'S MEAL CHOICES?
You're truly in for a treat when dinning at Brennan's, an award winning restaurant and known as the birthplace of Banana's Foster. So no matter what you pick, it's sure to be tasty!

Filet Chanteclair w/ B.B.Q. Shrimp
Fingerling Potato Puree, Bouquetière of Vegetables & Marchand de Vin
Seared Gulf Fish Nancy
Cherry Tomato, Haricot Vert, Crabmeat, Lemon Butter
